Principal Consultant -
Nick is a resource management strategist who has extensive experience working in local government at the intersection of planning, surveying, law, and spatial science. He has broad experience over most resource management topics, having been responsible for managing the full (rolling) review of the Whangarei District Council Plan and managing the appeal process for the first-generation Manukau City Council Plan.
Nick is adept at managing very complex and often highly sensitive or contentious projects through statutory consultation processes, working closely in partnership with tangata whenua. He extends this partnership model to his specialist area of community and stakeholder engagement by adopting collaborative, human-centred design approaches to communication and problem solving using lean and agile methodologies.
In addition to his planning experience, Nick has technical qualifications in spatial science (GIS) and land surveying, giving him a thorough understanding of spatial planning, data driven decision making, and the economics of policy development and regulations.
