Steven is a highly skilled GIS professional with a proven track record.

Steven has 20 years of experience providing GIS consulting services to local government and private companies within NZ and the UK. He has expert knowledge of GIS mapping technologies, asset management, and data integration systems across various business sectors, including local government, 3-waters, transportation, planning, roading, ecology and agriculture.

Steven has worked at several organisations, with the largest being OPUS International (GIS Manager, GIS Data Manager), Beca Infrastructure Consultants (Senior GIS Project Manager) and Auckland Council (Senior Spatial/Asset Management Consultant). His advanced technical skills include computing, GIS, geology and geophysics, hydrology, fluvial processes, remote sensing, geomorphology and coastal studies. He holds GIS computer literacy in ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro and extensions and MapInfo, ER Mapper, Manifold, Tatuk GIS, FME, Small World and Open-Source GIS Packages. He is also an advanced user of software and packages involving programming, databases, aerial photography and satellite imagery, digital cartography, hazard mapping, database design, construction and management.

Steven has a Bachelor of Science in Geography, Bachelor of Science in Geology/ Geophysics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Science (Geography), including Post Graduate papers in Geology / Remote Sensing (University of Auckland). He also holds a Diploma in Project Management (University of Canterbury).

Steve received the Merit Award from The Association of Consulting Engineers (ACENZ) Innovation Awards 2008 and is a NZEUG Member (ESRI User Group). Steven enjoys the serene landscape and beauty of Wanaka and the Otago region when he isn’t working.
