Our client’s proposal involved an apartment development within an existing building. The exterior outlook was onto a service lane that Hutt City Council identified as a lane they would like to see improved. It was unclear how our client could use the service lane. Resource consent was required for development.
During the consenting phase, the project team established that it could utilise the service lane to provide an outdoor living area. Align’s landscape architecture team was engaged to design an outdoor living space. Align then carried out an urban design assessment against this concept and the overall development to support the design and gain consent.
Consent was approved, and the project is now moving into detailed design and construction.
