The proposal was to create intensive housing (30 two-bed units within three blocks) on a site in Manurewa and to establish a cohesive and pleasantly landscaped social housing development. The site included a number of constraints including limited accessways, a stream and reserve land; and a discharge to the stream was proposed.
Align undertook pre-application meetings with Council, completed the planning assessments and liaised with the client and specialists to prepare the application. Liaison followed with council officers and mana whenua to resolve issues as they arose.
Resource consent was successfully gained to construct three blocks of units; in total 30 units for residential use. Good outcomes were negotiated with Council for parking, stormwater and urban design. The client is now progressing with the building consent to build these much needed units.
