Planning Consultant - Wellington

With an exciting and varied forward programme of nationally significant projects, we now require a Planning Consultant to work from our Petone office.

This role will suit either a planning graduate or a planning professional with 1 – 3 years’ experience. You will have an opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects including power infrastructure, housing and development, rail, and other infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

Your work would primarily involve providing advice, preparing consents, designations, outline plans and policy/ submissions and engagement with a range of interested stakeholders. Your work will be undertaken on behalf of local authorities, infrastructure providers, and private developers in relation to the Resource Management Act as well as other environmental infrastructure or client-related legislation.

Skills, Experience and Attributes Required for This Role

YOU ARE

An enthusiastic and passionate person with:

  • A relevant tertiary or planning qualification
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to resource management
  • Strong knowledge of or experience with resource consents and working with regional and district plans
  • Inclusive and adaptive working style and the ability to influence and develop trust and credibility with key stakeholders
  • A thirst for knowledge and a drive to take on new challenges
  • Eligibility for NZPI membership is desirable

Applicants must have existing rights to work in New Zealand along with a full, clean driving license.
